Obama Pushes Asian Trade Deal In Beijing
PlayPresident Barack Obama is in Beijing today for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. It’s a splashy event bringing together national leaders to talk about economic growth.
The gathering also will give the White House an opportunity to push one of its top priorities: getting a dozen Asian countries to join a free trade deal.
Obama says the trade pact – known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership – would bring growth to all participants. Not everyone in this country agrees.
NPR's Marilyn Geewax joins Here & Now's Robin Young to talk about more about the trade deal.
