New York Ebola Doctor Released
ResumeAfter sending the Big Apple into a frenzy last month, Dr. Craig Spencer has been released from the hospital, Ebola-free.
Dr. Spencer was infected with the disease while he was treating patients in Guinea as a volunteer for Doctors Without Borders.
After returning from the West African nation and going about life as usual — running, bowling and other social activities — Spencer realized he was showing symptoms of virus.
Spencer is the last reported Ebola case in the country and was treated by a medical team at New York's Bellevue Hospital.
Here & Now's Robin Young speaks with Shannon Pettypiece, healthcare reporter for Bloomberg, about the current state of Ebola in the U.S.
