Iraq's Christians Celebrate Christmas05:46

This article is more than 5 years old.

Christians in Iraq are of course a minority and they have been under fire for years.

Many fled the city of Mosul this past summer ahead of the advance of ISIS. Some of them have settled in Baghdad, where the holiday resonates for them today.

We speak to NPR correspondent Alice Fordham, who attended a Christmas Eve service last night in Baghdad and heard Iraqi Christians talk optimistically about the future.

This segment aired on December 25, 2014.
