Nebraska Court Throws Out Lawsuit Over Keystone XL Pipeline
ResumeNebraska's highest court threw out a lawsuit on Friday that challenged a proposed route for the Keystone XL pipeline, potentially clearing the way for the controversial oil pipeline.
In a split decision, the court ruled that the three landowners who had sued the state did not demonstrate that they had legal standing to bring their case. The lawsuit challenged a 2012 state law that allowed Governor Dave Heineman to grant permission to force some Nebraska landowners to sell their property for the project.
Michael Regan of Bloomberg News joins Here & Now's Lisa Mullins to discuss what this means for the Keystone XL pipeline, as the House is slated to vote on the project later today.
