President Obama plans to focus on income equality and middle class economic issues in his State Of The Union address tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern.

He's expected to call for increased taxes on the wealthy, making community college free for many students and expanding paid leave for workers.

But there is a big question about whether any of those proposals will have traction in a Congress that's completely controlled by Republicans. But the issues he talks about tonight could play a big role in the 2016 presidential election.

White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer joins Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson to preview the president's State of the Union address.
