Hourly Workers Bear Brunt of Snowstorms

Winter weather has caused all sorts of problems in Massachusetts - school closings, suspension of public transportation and lost revenue for stores.

A study from the American Highway Users Alliance estimates transportation delays and closings in the past few weeks cost Massachusetts about $265 million a day. About two-thirds of that is lost income for hourly workers.

Bruce Gellerman of Here & Now contributing station WBUR takes a look at how the shutdown and delay of services lead to added worries, lost time and smaller paychecks of hourly workers.
