The U.S., U.K. and France are closing their embassies in Sanaa because the security situation continues to deteriorate in Yemen. Diplomatic staff are being evacuated and citizens from those countries are being urged to leave.

The move comes as the United Nations tries to broker talks between political factions and Shiite rebels who control Sanaa and dissolved parliament last week.

Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the Middle East and this latest strife is only making life more difficult for ordinary citizens. The BBC's Sally Nabil reports.
