The California ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are partially closed today, after labor talks broke down earlier this week. The ongoing talks are over a new contract for dock workers and longshoremen at 29 West Coast ports.

According to the National Retail Federation, half of the country's imports pass through those ports. The faltering labor talks have had a widespread impact on everyone from fruit growers to retailers.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with Matt Priest, who represents some of the retailers impacted. He is president of the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America.
