California Water Restrictions Take Effect

In response to a historic drought, California Governor Jerry Brown mandated the state cut its water usage by 25 percent. Specific targets were put in place for each city, as well.

Many communities already had their own water conservation rules, but will now have to do more to avoid hefty fines.

Here & Now host Robin Young is broadcasting from San Diego this week, which imposed water restrictions in November. She sorts through the new rules with Claire Trageser of KPBS.
