In this picture released by an official website of the office of the Iranian Supreme Leader on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addresses Iranian top officials in a mosque at his residence in Tehran, Iran. Iran's top leader has hardened his stance in nuclear negotiations with world powers as a deadline for a final deal rapidly approach, saying he rejects a long-term freeze on nuclear research and wants to ban international inspectors from accessing military sites. The comments by Khamenei, who repeatedly has backed the Islamic Republic's negotiators amid criticism from hard-liners, may give his diplomats little room for concessions ahead of the June 30 deadline. The Associated Press has obtained a confidential document that shows the U.S. and other nations are ready to offer peaceful nuclear technology to Iran, if that country agrees to crimp programs that can produce nuclear weapons.

The information in the document comes as Iran continues to take a hard line against some of the key U.S. demands for a deal, including the inspection of Iran's military sites. The deadline to reach a deal is June 30, and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is holding a hearing on the issue tomorrow.

Here & Now's Robin Young speaks with security analyst Jim Walsh of MIT's Security Studies Program, who will testify before the committee.
