A few hundred college students in Missouri were recently informed that their tuition will rise 300 percent. These are students who were brought to the U.S. illegally as small children and know no other home but Missouri.

As Sam Zeff of Here & Now contributing station KCUR reports from Kansas City, their predicament is due to a small language change in a bill passed in the state legislature in March. That small change is having a big effect on some students' futures.
