The number of farms owned and operated by women has tripled in the U.S. in recent decades, though the sales from women-owned farms account for only 3 percent of the total. But these women are helping small and midsize farms transition in a changing economy.

Julie Grant of the public radio program The Allegheny Front takes a look at the impact women are having in running smaller farms.
