More than a year after Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson by a white police officer, setting off protests, riots and a national "Black Lives Matter" movement, a new report is out today, called "Forward Through Ferguson: A Path Toward Racial Equity."

In the introduction, it spells out something that has become increasingly clear over the past year: “The law says all citizens are equal, but the data says not everyone is treated that way.” It goes on to issue 189 calls to action on everything from criminal justice and housing, to education and economics.

Here & Now's Meghna Chakrabarti talks with one of the commissioners, Becky James-Hatter, about the report's recommendations, and what happens next.
