How Tech Is Fighting Wildfires

The blazes raging north of San Francisco have proved difficult to contain, let alone snuff, using manpower and tried-and-tested technologies. But in an era, and a region, where innovation is booming, many are looking to Silicon Valley for faster and safer solutions. Modern satellite, drones, lasers and social media are even playing a role.
Here & Now's Peter O'Dowd speaks with James Temple of Re/code about how the technology industry is stepping in and may offer solutions for the growing problem of wildfires.
