Pittsburgh Man Has An Unusual Strategy For Collecting Baseballs
ResumePittsburgh Pirates fan Pete Schell is what is known in baseball as a ball "hawk" - the obsessed, not-afraid-to-run-over-you-or-your-mother fans who shag and collect baseballs from Major League ballparks.
Typically that's done inside the park. But out on the banks of the Allegheny River, Pete has found his own unique version of the hawk's life - waiting for balls that make it all the way outside the ballpark.
Lou Blouin of The Allegheny Front at WESA spent some time with Schell and sent us this audio postcard.
