From the late 1960s to the early 1970s, John Fogerty was the creative force behind one of the biggest bands in the world, Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). The band's hits included "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising" and "Fortunate Son."

In 1972, the band broke apart. For years afterward, Fogerty was engaged in legal battles with his former bandmates and his former record label. But he has built a successful solo career, helped in large part by his wife Julie, whom he married in 1991.

John Fogerty talks with Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson about his new memoir, "Fortunate Son: My Life, My Music."
