Denver Ballot Question Poses Sales Tax To Fund College Tuition
ResumeDenver could become one of the first cities in the country to help students pay for any public college in Colorado.
Tomorrow, voters will decide on a tax that would fund scholarships for low-to-middle-income students. Supporters say it’s critical for economic development in a city where less than half of high school graduates finish college.
Critics say city government should focus on fixing sidewalks and fighting crime.
