A major transformation in the way energy is being made, delivered and used in the U.S. is underway.

In Maine a pilot project is highlighting a new way to disrupt utilities's traditional business models. A startup company in the state averted the need to build a costly new transmission line by proposing to save — and even make — electricity, right in the neighborhood.
