Netflix Subscriptions Surge With Interest In 'Stranger Things,' 'Narcos'

Netflix outdid Wall Street expectations, adding nearly 3.6 million subscribers in its third quarter.

The numbers come as a pleasant surprise to investors after a lousy last quarter. The company says its original content like the shows "Narcos," "Stranger Things," and "Luke Cage" are partly responsible for the turnaround.
