Presidents often criticize industries, or praise particular businesses. But it's exceedingly rare for a president to target an individual company.

Teddy Roosevelt did it, so did John F. Kennedy. But that's been about it until President-elect Trump criticized Carrier, Ford and Boeing. Trump has taken what many presidents have done to influence business leader from behind closed doors into the public. NPR's Sonari Glinton (@sonari) reports.
