After the G-7 meeting in Italy, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will press the U.S. case against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Moscow. Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday he wants the U.N. to investigate last week's chemical attack that killed dozens of civilians in Syria.

The U.S. blames Syria and Russia for that attack, a charge both countries deny, and hit a Syrian air base with missiles in response. Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson checks in with NPR diplomatic correspondent Michele Kelemen (@michelekelemen).

This segment aired on April 11, 2017.
