Facebook's annual developer conference, called F8, began Tuesday amid criticism of how the social media company monitors offensive and violent content posted by its users.

The conference, which is usually meant to highlight Facebook's latest technologies and initiatives, will likely be overshadowed by the graphic video of a man murdered in Cleveland, which was posted on Facebook Sunday and remained up for two hours.

Here & Now's Meghna Chakrabarti speaks with Kurt Wagner (@KurtWagner8), senior editor of social media at Recode.

This segment aired on April 18, 2017.
