Every 17 years, the Washington, D.C. area is overrun by cicadas. But this spring, thousands of them are showing up four years ahead of schedule.

As Jacob Fenston (@JacobFenston) from Here & Now contributor WAMU reports, there are a number of reasons why it seems like another invasion is happening, but one may be the degree to which Washingtonians are plugged in to the internet.
