New Jersey is three days into a government shutdown, and all state-run beaches and parks are closed. Closed to all except Gov. Chris Christie.

Aerial photographs of the governor and his family sitting on an otherwise-empty Island Beach State Park, outside the governor's state-owned residence, went viral online Sunday, and graced the front page of New Jersey's Star-Ledger Monday with the headline: "Gov. soaks up sun on beach he closed."

Here & Now's Lisa Mullins speaks with Matt Arco (@MatthewArco), political reporter for The Star-Ledger, about the shutdown and how people in New Jersey are reacting to the photos of Christie.

This segment aired on July 3, 2017.
