HBO’s "Game of Thrones" premieres its seventh season this Sunday — the first of two abbreviated seasons that will conclude the series.

NPR TV critic Eric Deggans (@Deggans) says that while the show’s storytelling has gotten better, it’s also becoming a more predictably heroic story. He joins Here & Now's Meghna Chakrabarti to look back on the legacy of the show, and to what HBO will do once it ends.

This segment aired on July 14, 2017.
