One of the lingering questions about Sunday night's mass shooting in Las Vegas is how the gunman was able to get more than 20 weapons up to his hotel room. That's prompting calls to harden security at so-called soft targets like hotels.

But as NPR’s Joel Rose (@NPRJoel) reports, that may conflict with the industry's commitment to hospitality.
