White House communications director Hope Hicks will be stepping down in the next few weeks, leaving President Trump without one of his closest aides and longest-serving defenders. Meanwhile, the president appeared to embrace gun law changes in a meeting Wednesday, a sharp contrast with the National Rifle Association.
