Votes in California are still being tallied Wednesday morning after the biggest primary of the year. Democrats avoided being shut out of key congressional races throughout the state despite a crowded field. Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom secured a spot in the gubernatorial race, where he'll face off against Trump-backed John Cox in the fall.
