Washington State Looks At Expanding Parental Rights For Teen Mental Health Treatment
PlayWashington, like many states, gives teens the right to seek mental health treatment without a parent's consent. The state allows kids as young as 13 to make their own mental health decisions. But some parents say they're being left out of important decisions for their children. KUOW's Deborah Wang (@KUOWdebwang) reports about efforts to change Washington state's consent laws and allow more parental involvement in their children's treatment.
