As the debate over abortion rights in the U.S. ramps up, the political debate continues to be black and white. But many Americans fall into a gray area.

According to the Pew Research Center, about 70% of Americans want Roe v. Wade upheld, meaning they believe in the right to an abortion. But also according to Pew, nearly half of Americans believe abortion is morally wrong.

Here & Now's Robin Young looks at the gray area in the abortion debate with Frances Kissling, president of the non-profit Center for Health, Ethics and Social Policy. She's the former president of Catholics for Choice.

This segment aired on July 8, 2019.
