On Tuesday, 2020 presidential hopefuls will address the first presidential candidates' forum focused entirely on Native American issues in more than a decade.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren apologized on Monday to the audience at The Frank LaMere Native American Presidential Forum in Sioux City, Iowa, for "mistakes" — a reference to the DNA test she took to try to prove she had Native American heritage after President Trump gave her the nickname “Pocahontas."

Here & Now's Peter O'Dowd speaks with Jourdan Bennett-Begaye (@jourdanbb), Washington Editor for Indian Country Today.

This segment aired on August 20, 2019.
