Illinois saw its largest uptick in deaths from COVID-19 Wednesday as cases in Chicago continue to rise. On Tuesday, Governor J.B. Pritzker extended the state-wide stay-at-home order to the end of April.

Now, officials say they're bracing for a peak in cases within the next two weeks. But the city faces several challenges including little assistance from the federal government and a lack of basic resources like running water in some homes.

WBEZ's Claudia Morell (@claudiamorell) talks to host Robin Young about the lastest from Chicago.

This segment aired on April 2, 2020.
