On Tuesday, President Trump is expected to announce the members of an advisory "pandemic council." The White House says the group will help determine how and when to reopen the U.S. economy from its hibernation during the coronavirus pandemic.

This comes as the president railed against reporters in his coronavirus briefing Monday night, falsely claiming that he has "total authority" over governors on reopening parts of the country.

NPR political correspondent Scott Detrow (@scottdetrow) joins host Robin Young for more on the expected council members and tensions between Trump and state governors.

This segment aired on April 14, 2020.
