As states begin looking at how to reopen their economies, public health officials are expecting a resurgence in COVID-19 if social distancing ends too quickly. The infection rate is slowing in places like New York and New Jersey, but hotspots of infection are popping up in the middle of the country.

Host Jeremy Hobson talks to Dr. Amesh Adalja (@AmeshAA), senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security, about what the infection rate tells us about where we are in this pandemic.

This segment aired on May 13, 2020.
