Senate Republicans released on Wednesday the draft of a police reform bill. Among its measures: incentives to end chokeholds, funding for more body-cameras and strengthened disciplinary and accountability measures.

Democrats, however, say the bill doesn't go far enough. Rival legislation in the House of Representatives would outright ban chokeholds and no-knock warrants, among other reforms.

NPR's Kelsey Snell joins host Jeremy Hobson on the competing Republican and Democrat police reform efforts.

This segment aired on June 17, 2020.
