More than 29,000 people have died of COVID-19 in U.S. nursing homes. In many states, long-term care facilities account for almost half of total COVID-19 deaths.

In Indiana, these facilities are not required to publicly report cases and deaths from COVID-19. As Lauren Bavis of Side Effects Public Media reports, some families and advocacy groups want this to change.

This segment aired on June 23, 2020.
