Coronavirus Cases Jump In Northern California At State Prison And Rural Counties

California Gov. Gavin Newsom says he plans to further scale back the state's reopening plans as a new surge in coronavirus cases continues in big cities and small.

The rate of community spread has been on the rise over the past two weeks and so have hospitalizations. One of the latest clusters is at San Quentin State Prison in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Here & Now's Robin Young speaks with Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo, chair of the department of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of California San Francisco.
