Houston Mayor Declines To Enact Eviction Grace Period

After federal eviction protections expired in July, some cities enacted eviction moratoriums to protect renters at risk of losing their homes.

But despite broad support and the recommendation by a COVID-19 task force, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has rejected the grace period ordinance.
