President Trump continued to attack Democrats and racial justice protesters on Monday, after Sunday night's news that a far-right supporter was shot to death in Portland. The incident came after clashes between far-right groups and racial justice protesters in the city.

The president also spent the weekend unleashing a volley of tweets that promoted fringe theories about nationwide protests and COVID-19's fatality rate. Meanwhile, Joe Biden condemned the violence in Portland and continued campaigning in Pennsylvania.

NPR's Mara Liasson brings us the latest.

This segment aired on August 31, 2020.
