Sen. Kamala Harris and Vice President Mike Pence faced off in the vice presidential debate on Wednesday.

Harris said the Trump administration's handling of the coronavirus was the greatest failure of any administration in the nation's history. Pence, who led the White House's coronavirus task force, defended the president's actions.

Both candidates deflected questions. The affair might also be the last debate of the 2020 campaign.

Here & Now's Jeremy Hobson speaks with NPR's Tamara Keith for the latest.

This segment aired on October 8, 2020.
