Calls to end police brutality, implement better training and improve community-police relationships have reached every corner of America. That includes Ellis County, Texas — a mostly rural county about 30 miles south of Dallas.

The sheriff's department there is expanding disability and mental health training, after an incident in 2018 where a disabled man was hospitalized following his arrest. From member station KERA in Dallas, Bekah Morr has this story.

This segment aired on November 27, 2020.
