India Battles 2nd COVID-19 Wave

On Sunday, India recorded nearly 104,000 new infections in a single day — a new record.

Some officials blame the surge on a lack of public compliance with protective measures like mask-wearing. Others point to large campaign rallies for forthcoming state elections.
