California's early fire season is a red flag for what's to come

03:46

California's wet winter and dry hot early summer has created a tinder box ready to ignite, already sparking more than 3,500 fires.

That's a red flag for what's to come according to David Barrett of MySafe:LA, a fire prevention group providing mitigation services to California's Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Host Peter O'Dowd talks to Barrett about the current situation and what people can do to remain safe.

This segment aired on July 12, 2024.
