Panel description:

How does living with a disability shape your experience as a member of the media? In this session, journalists from all corners of the industry will discuss navigating their own physical and neurological disabilities in a competitive landscape that prizes speed, sound-bites, and appearance above nearly everything else. What do you do when you're not "TV-ready?" Topics will include disclosure, how to work effectively with HR and management, disability representation, and diversity in newsrooms.

Borchers covers the Greater Boston business community for WBUR's Bostonomix. He joined WBUR in 2018 from The Washington Post, where he reported on the intersection of politics and media. He previously covered politics, business and sports at The Boston Globe and was editor of Citizen’s News in Naugatuck, Connecticut.
