WBUR’s Circle Round Partners With Boston Symphony Orchestra To Showcase Musicians On Popular Children’s Podcast

WBUR’s popular children’s podcast Circle Round will partner with the Grammy-winning Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO), highlighting talented musicians in four new episodes dropping on Tuesdays starting today (July 7) and July 21, August 4 and August 18.

Each new episode of Circle Round, which adapts folktales from around the world into action-packed radio plays starring beloved voices from the stage and screen, will feature a new score composed by Eric Shimelonis and played by a BSO soloist. The BSO soloists are flutist Cynthia Myers, violist Danny Kim, tuba player Mike Roylance and bassist Benjamin Levy. Thomas Wilkins, Germeshausen Youth and Family Concerts Conductor and recently appointed Artistic Advisor for Education and Community Engagement at the BSO, will also be a special guest on the podcast.

In addition, Circle Round and the BSO will publish a special on-demand audio experience that will publish on July 28th. This new compilation — which will replace the BSO’s usual in-person Family Concert at Tanglewood — will be available on both the WBUR and BSO websites.
