Every September for the last 35 years, people have gathered in South Boston to remember the men from that community who were killed in the Vietnam War.

There were 25 of them and their names are etched onto the stone of the South Boston Vietnam Memorial. The memorial was dedicated in 1981.

The memorial marked its 35th anniversary on Sunday.

WBUR's Alex Ashlock was at the anniversary memorial and joined Morning Edition.
