Among the most hotly debated state ballot questions this year in Massachusetts is the one that would open the door to the sale of marijuana for recreation.

Backers and opponents squared off at the University of Massachusetts Boston on Tuesday in the final ballot question debate in a series sponsored by WBUR, The Boston Globe and The McCormack School at UMass.

WBUR's Steve Brown reports.

This segment aired on October 5, 2016.
