Displaced Persons Arrive on Cape Cod

Governor Mitt Romney is scheduled to sign an emergency request to cover the costs of sheltering evacuees from Louisiana. Romney is confident the president will approve the appeal, which means Massachusetts would be reimbursed 100 percent.

So far, there have been two planeloads of people, mostly from New Orleans. 120 displaced people arrived this morning. Earlier in the day, the first group of more than 100 flew to Camp Edwards, on Cape Cod.
