Local Families Open Homes to Katrina Victims

A housing fair is planned for Hurricane Katrina evacuees at Camp Edwards Friday. Representatives from faith-based groups will be on hand to help families who want to find private accommodations. And the state's department of transitional assistance will give out information about public housing.

Across Massachusetts, people have offered spare rooms and sleep sofas to people left homeless by the storm. WBUR's Monica Brady-Myerov recently spoke with some who've opened their homes.

This program aired on September 23, 2005. The audio for this program is not available.
