The Home Stretch
David Ortiz was the hero as the Red Sox kept pace in the playoff race with a win last night over the Blue Jays at Fenway.
Ortiz hit a homerun to tie the game in the eight, and then singled to win it in the ninth.
Because the Yankees and Indians also won, the Sox are still one game back of New York in the division and tied for the wildcard with Cleveland.
The Sox finish the season with a three-game set against the Yankees tonight at Fenway.
For a preview Bob Oakes speaks with Bill Simmons, who writes the Sports Guy column for ESPN.
